About the Role

At VMCH, we're committed to empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently in their communities. As an Independent Living Disability Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in providing individualized capacity building supports to help our clients develop essential life skills.

You'll have the opportunity to work across various programs, including group sessions and one-on-one support in clients' homes or within the community. This will enable you to tailor your approach to meet the unique needs of each individual.

A key aspect of this role is working a range of rostered shifts, including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and sleepovers. This flexibility will allow you to create a schedule that suits your lifestyle while still making a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients.

About You

To be successful in this position, you'll need to have experience working with individuals with disabilities and a passion for supporting them to achieve their goals. Your ability to develop life skills and capacity building strategies will be invaluable in helping our clients reach their full potential.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in the Disability, Community, or Healthcare sectors.
  • Experience developing life skills and capacity building strategies.
  • Certificate III Individual Support or Certificate IV Disability (desired).
  • Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Current valid full Driver's Licence, Car Insurance, and Car Registration.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check (WWCC).
  • Basic level of computer and administration skills.
