We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Solutions Architect with extensive expertise in data engineering to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate closely with prestigious clients and contribute to their success.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Clients and Stakeholders: Work with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and define project objectives, building trusted advisor relationships across client stakeholders by understanding their needs and technologies.
- Design End-to-End Data Solutions: Design end-to-end data solutions on the Azure platform, covering data ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics.
- Develop Architecture Diagrams: Develop architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and implementation plans for data solutions.
- Data Solution Optimization: Optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Data Delivery Process: Oversee the entire data delivery process for new projects, including change management, requirements gathering, development, testing, and migration to production.
- Data Pipelines and ETL Processes: Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Synapse.
- Azure-Based Data Solutions: Implement and deploy Azure-based data solutions across the Microsoft platform, leveraging ADF.
- Data Governance: Support data governance activities and advocate for best practices within data warehousing.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support the data warehouse, ensuring efficient and automated deployment processes.
- Customer Requirements: Use active listening and insightful questioning to understand customer requirements, challenges, business context, and motivations.
Your Technical Skills and Experience
- Proven Expertise as a Solutions Architect: With over 5 years of proven expertise as a Solutions Architect in the data domain, including extensive experience in data engineering and a specialized focus on Azure technologies.
- Azure Services Expertise: In-depth expertise in Azure services relevant to data engineering and analytics, such as Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and optionally R, Scala, and Java for data manipulation, analysis, modelling, and integration.
- Data Modelling Concepts: Understanding of data modelling concepts and experience designing efficient data models for analytics and reporting.
- ETL Workflows: Experience with developing ETL/ELT workflows using tools like Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
- Data Integration Patterns: Knowledge of data integration patterns and techniques for ingesting data from various sources into the Azure ecosystem.
- CI/CD Pipelines and Change Management: Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines and change management, understanding branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Azure Security Best Practices: Knowledge of Azure security best practices, data encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and data governance.
- Monitoring Azure Services: Skills in monitoring Azure services and Databricks clusters for performance, resource utilization, and cost optimization using tools like Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Databricks monitoring.

The estimated salary for this role is around $180,000 - $220,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location.
