Freight Operations Manager

A successful Freight Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing end-to-end freight forwarding operations across air, sea, and land. This individual will ensure seamless coordination between clients, carriers, customs, and internal teams, while maintaining compliance with international shipping regulations.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee daily operations of freight forwarding activities.
  • Coordinate shipments, bookings, and documentation with carriers and agents.
  • Supervise and support junior operations staff, providing training and guidance.
  • Ensure full compliance with customs, trade, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor KPIs and operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with clients to resolve operational issues and ensure exceptional service delivery.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in freight forwarding operations, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping, import/export procedures, and customs regulations.
  • Solid understanding of wharf cartage and general transport.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in freight forwarding software (Cargowise) and MS Office tools.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
