Leadership Role for an Assistant Director

Our Early Learning Centre in Melbourne seeks a dedicated Assistant Director to join our team.
As Assistant Director, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations in the Centre Director's absence. This includes monitoring staff–child ratios, educator scheduling, and room transitions to maintain safe, clean, and engaging environments that reflect the Reggio Emilia–inspired, play-based philosophy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee daily operations in the Centre Director's absence
- Monitor staff–child ratios, educator scheduling, and room transitions
- Maintain safe, clean, and engaging environments that reflect the Reggio Emilia–inspired, play-based philosophy
- Support implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework and Reggio Emilia approach
- Collaborate with educators to plan and adapt learning experiences for children from 6 weeks to school age
Requirements:
Qualifications and SkillsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Diploma, Graduate Diploma, or Degree in Early Childhood Education (ACECQA approved)
- Strong knowledge of the EYLF and National Quality Standards (NQS)
- Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills
Working closely with a supportive centre director and team of educators, you will have the opportunity to act as 2ic within a purpose-built 'Exceeding' centre featuring exceptional indoor and outdoor learning environments.
