Senior Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at Penguin Recruitment. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing and working on multiple projects simultaneously, leading scheme development, preliminary and detailed designs, and coordinating projects.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Managing and working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Leading scheme development, preliminary and detailed designs, and coordinating projects
  • Contributing to or leading efforts in business development, budget management, and preparing fee proposals
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members to ensure high-quality technical and non-technical deliverables
  • Working in a design office while actively participating in design meetings, site inspections, and progress reporting
  • Strong communication and liaison with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities

You will thrive in this role if you have:

  • A BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc, HND, or HND in Civil Engineering, with significant experience in a design office
  • Proficiency in Auto CAD, PDS, Civils3D, and Micro Drainage for technical analysis and design
  • A solid understanding of technical software such as Civil 3D and Auto Track
  • Experience working with residential developers
  • Knowledge of UK planning procedures and the ability to provide technical support to secure planning approvals
  • Experience securing technical approvals from highway and drainage authorities
