Apprentice Sport Turf Management Job

This apprenticeship is designed for individuals looking to develop their skills in sport turf management. You will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn about the latest practices and technologies used in the industry.

The four-year program includes hands-on training, where you will gain practical experience in maintaining sports fields, preparing wickets, managing pests and diseases, installing and maintaining irrigation systems, and operating specialized equipment.

  • Wicket preparation requires attention to detail and knowledge of the specific requirements for different types of wickets.
  • Pest and disease management involve identifying and controlling the spread of diseases and pests that can affect the health of the turf.
  • Irrigation systems installation and maintenance are critical for ensuring the turf receives the right amount of water at the right time.
  • Specialist mowing operations and maintenance require a high level of skill and attention to detail to ensure the turf looks its best.

In addition to your practical duties, you will also attend weekly classroom learning sessions to develop your theoretical knowledge and understanding of the industry.
