Job Title: Canteen Supervisor

Job Description

The role of Canteen Supervisor plays a vital part in managing the daily operations of our school canteen. Key responsibilities include:

  • Canteen Operations: Oversee menu planning, food preparation and ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain and monitor inventory levels, place orders and manage suppliers.
  • Customer Service: Deliver friendly and efficient customer service to students, staff and visitors.
  • Financial Management: Handle cash transactions, record sales and maintain financial records for the canteen.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the school community to create a diverse and healthy menu catering to various dietary requirements.
  • Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of canteen staff including scheduling and training.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, applicants must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Food Safety Certification
  • Previous supervisory experience preferably in a school or institutional setting
  • Menu Planning: Proficiency in developing menus considering nutritional guidelines and dietary restrictions
  • Customer Service: Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Inventory Management: Ability to manage inventory, place orders and monitor supplies
  • Hygiene and Safety: Knowledge of food safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Financial Management: Basic accounting skills and ability to manage cash transactions
