Asset Management Specialist

About the Role
The Latrobe City Council is seeking an experienced Asset Strategy Officer to join our City Assets Department. As the Asset Strategy Officer, you will play a key role in the on-going management of Council's Asset Management strategies and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the key point of contact for Council's Asset Management Information System, ensuring the asset data is consistent with the Asset Management Information System requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain asset management processes.
- Update asset registers incorporating capital works and developed assets to facilitate annual asset valuations.
- Resource, maintain, and enhance Council's pavement management system and prepare forward programs for road and kerb renewal, re-sealing, and re-sheeting.
- Assess, prepare, and update asset inventories, implement/undertake condition assessments, identify, and develop financial modelling/planning and asset revaluations.
- Participate in the Asset Planning Team with a focus on establishment and implementation of asset management strategies and systems and plans for council's infrastructure.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Asset Management and/or related disciplines such as Engineering or substantial experience/knowledge in Asset Management Information Systems.
- Some experience in and knowledge of Civil Engineering practice and in particular road construction/maintenance.
- Excellent understanding and demonstrated application of Asset Management principles.
- Substantial knowledge/experience in Pavement Management Systems.
- Experience and understanding of Quality Assurance and Health & Safety standards and procedures.
- Proficiency in the use of computerised accounting systems, spreadsheets, and related Microsoft Office Suite of products will be an advantage.
