ROLE OVERVIEW

We have several exciting full-time roles for qualified Registered Nurses to join our Neurosurgery/Neurology Ward.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will report to the Nursing Unit Manager (Acute Care) and possess strong clinical nursing capabilities, a patient-centered approach, and a commitment to teamwork. A passion for nursing excellence, innovation, and professional development is essential. This position is also suitable for recent graduates who have completed their initial training. Your ability to thrive in a dynamic environment that values collaboration and dedication will be crucial for success in this role.

Our Neurosurgery department is recognized as one of our flagship specialties. You will collaborate with some of the most accomplished academic neurosurgeons in the country, who are committed to enhancing their clinical and surgical expertise while also mentoring the next generation of neurosurgical professionals.

In addition to valuing education, this academic institution is at the forefront of groundbreaking research in neurology and neurosurgery. With subspecialties in vascular neurosurgery, complex spine surgery, tumors, and conditions such as syringomyelia and Chiari malformation, you will gain exposure to a wide range of intricate neurosurgical cases.

Regular multidisciplinary meetings will allow staff to engage in case discussions and explore various treatment options collaboratively. Working in this ward will provide Registered Nurses with a platform to apply and expand their knowledge and skills in a rich learning environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To be considered for this position, candidates should demonstrate the following qualifications in their CV and cover letter:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Previous experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Flexibility regarding shifts and availability.
  • Proficiency in technology, including electronic medical records and office software.
  • Ability to assess, plan, and implement preventative care strategies.
  • Proven capability to build professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
