Job Title: Senior Android Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Android Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our mobile development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality software applications for our native mobile products.

You will have the opportunity to work on various projects, including the signup flow and in-app purchases, as well as payments functionality. Our mobile teams are multi-disciplinary, comprising specialists in iOS, Android, and Backend Engineering who work together to craft software for our native mobile products.

You will be part of a distributed team across Australia and New Zealand, working collaboratively with cross-functions like Design, Marketing, and Product. We strive to drive delivery by getting value into the hands of our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Continually deliver results through writing code and code reviews.
  • Lead and/or participate in technical and architectural discussions.
  • Work in a cross-functional environment with Product, Design & Data peers to design, prototype, and implement product features.
  • Identify opportunities in current technology and architecture to recommend solutions, including tech improvements for stability, monitoring, and fault tolerance.
  • Provide input when engineers in the team need help, offering technical guidance and mentoring to help them grow and be the best version of themselves.
  • Keep an ear to the ground to stay up-to-date with mobile development technologies; identify and promote opportunities to make use of these technologies within the mobile team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a senior engineer role.
  • An appetite to learn about other stacks (iOS, Backend - preferably C#).
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring engineers.
  • Previous exposure to working in a similar product-based environment to ours, where collaboration is key.
