Senior Software Engineer, Android, Google Photos

Join Google as a Senior Software Engineer, Android for Google Photos. Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. We are looking for engineers to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions with a focus on Android.

About the job

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information. You will work on a project critical to Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the organization grows. The role requires versatility, leadership, and the ability to tackle problems across the full stack.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new features for Google Photos.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to define and improve Google Photos Android architecture, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and easy to reason about.
  • Mentor and lead other junior engineers on the team.
Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience building Android software products.
Preferred qualifications
  • 5 years of experience with Kotlin/Java.
  • Experience with technical leadership.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
