
Senior Culinary Operations Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional culinary experiences and cultivating a winning culture in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing high-volume kitchen operations, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. They will be responsible for assisting the Kitchen Manager with daily operations, participating in the hiring and training of new staff members, and coaching and counseling existing staff to achieve whole-team success.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of kitchen operations, meticulous culinary skills, and the ability to manage inventory and allocate resources effectively. They will also be organized and systematic in their approach to work, with a strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision;
- Participate in the hiring and training of new staff members;
- Coach and counsel existing staff to achieve whole-team success;
- Work with the kitchen team to exceed cost centre budgets and targets through proper planning, scheduling, and execution;
- Maintain high standards for consistency in recipe and menu item execution;
- Close involvement in inventory management and oversee ordering of food and supplies;
- Help maintain professional restaurant image, including cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance standards;
- Uphold restaurant safety, sanitation, and security standards at all times;
- Ensure building, equipment, furniture, and fixtures are in good repair, clean, and maintained regularly;
- Ensure a safe and harassment-free environment for all Team Members and Managers.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years' kitchen work experience in high-volume environments; management or supervisory roles preferred;
Ability to inspire cooperation and teamwork through self-confidence, attitude, and enthusiasm;
Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations and meticulous culinary skills;
Knowledge of operations and maintenance of commercial food preparation equipment;
Ability to manage inventory and allocate responsibilities and resources;
Organised and systematic approach to work and the ability to prioritise efficiently;
Attention to detail and analytical skills;
Compliant and up to date on all necessary certifications.
