Job Role Overview

Space exploration and innovation are at the forefront of technological advancements. As a mechanical engineer in supply chain management, you will play a pivotal role in supporting cutting-edge space projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Function as the technical liaison for assigned components and assemblies of spacecraft, resolving emergent issues with suppliers and mitigating risk to the mission by addressing high-impact manufacturing and quality challenges
  • Lead the introduction of new products, including determining optimal manufacturing methods, identifying reliable suppliers, and developing efficient processes for ramping up production
  • Conduct design for manufacturability reviews to ensure parts can be produced efficiently at early stages, preferably prior to sourcing
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to identify exceptional suppliers and vet them appropriately for quality and ability to meet demanding production requirements
  • Develop specifications as needed to communicate quality and manufacturing requirements to the supply base
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing and/or inspection of mechanical products in a production environment
