We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Specialised Behaviour Support Professional to join our dedicated team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
Job Description
As a Specialised Behaviour Support Professional, you will be responsible for creating personalised strategies that positively impact the lives of our clients. Your focus will be on responsiveness and improving the quality of life for our clients, aiming to reduce behaviours of concern and minimise the use of restrictive practices.
You will work closely with our clients and their families to understand their unique needs and develop tailored support plans. Your expertise in conducting functional behaviour assessments and comprehensive behaviour support planning will be invaluable in this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification or currently studying in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Diploma Community Services, or at least 5 years of experience in developing or overseeing behaviour supports according to the PBS Capability Framework.
- Clinical knowledge and expertise in conducting functional behaviour assessments and comprehensive behaviour support planning.
- Experience providing services to individuals and children with disabilities with complex behaviour needs.
- Familiarity with NDIS Commission Behaviour Support Rules and relevant disability legislation.
- Strong understanding of best practice positive behaviour support, evidence-based approaches, and trauma-informed practice.
