">Our bakery is a family-owned retail business supplying specialty breads, pastries, biscuits, and cakes.
">About the Role
">We are seeking an experienced pastry chef to join our team. As a skilled baker, you will bring your expertise from different workplaces.
">We prepare traditional Chinese layer pastries, Chinese dim sum bao, Taiwanese sweet bun, Western sourdough bread, assorted savoury puffs & pies, and various cakes.
">Duties and Responsibilities

- Use scales or graduated containers to measure precise amounts of baking ingredients.">
- Assess the quality of raw materials before baking to ensure conformance to set standards.">
- Mix ingredients using automated equipment such as blenders and mixers.">
- Knead dough manually or with the aid of a kneading machine.">
- Place dough in pans, moulds, or on sheets before depositing in ovens for baking.">
- Design and decorate cakes according to customers' specifications.">
- Produce different kinds of icing, frosting, and cake fillings based on cake type and customer preferences.">
- Prepare Asian desserts (e.g. Mochi, Dorayaki, Ma Lai Koh, Kuih Lapis).">
- Establish production schedules and set quotas for the number of goods to be produced daily.">
- Maintain clean and hygienic work areas in accordance with health and safety regulations.">
- Ensure proper storage of baking utensils and supplies.">
- Oversee routine maintenance of baking equipment to ensure efficient operations.">
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies before they are used up.">
- Adjust thermostatic controls to regulate oven temperatures.">
Requirements
">- Diploma in baking and patisserie or equivalent.
">- At least 3 years of work experience in a bakery/pastry production kitchen.
">- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
">- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform under pressure.
">- Dedicated to baking quality and control.
">- Strong knowledge of baking and willingness to learn.
