About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Mergers and Acquisitions team in Sydney. As a key member of our Deal Advisory practice, you will be responsible for leading complex transactions and providing strategic advice to clients across various industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams to execute transactions, including acquisitions, divestments, mergers, and capital raisings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, financiers, and legal advisers to identify business opportunities and drive deal execution.
  • Prepare and present financial models, valuation reports, and other analytical materials to support transaction decisions.
  • Collaborate with the national and international KPMG network to deliver cross-border engagements and leverage global expertise.
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities, including originating deal opportunities for financial sponsors and maintaining relationships with target private equity accounts.
Requirements
  • Recent and relevant experience working on transactions in an investment bank, corporate advisory firm, private equity, or accounting firm (M&A Advisory or Corporate Finance).
  • Suitable technical capabilities and accreditations, including completion of relevant post-graduate studies (e.g., CA or CFA).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
  • Confident analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple demands on time and deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of corporate finance, with a focus on M&A and deal advisory.
