At a mid-tier accounting and tax firm, we are seeking an experienced manager to join our business advisory services team.

The Opportunity

This permanent role is based in Newcastle or Sydney and offers a flexible working environment. We provide career development opportunities, a dynamic and talented team to work alongside, the chance to secondment overseas and outstanding study support and training.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for someone with strong review and workflow management experience, high attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of client outcomes. The right person will have a passion for managing and improving the delivery of core tax compliance work and supporting their partner in maintaining high service standards.

Requirements
  • A highly organised team player who can build relationships within the team.
  • The ability to take initiative and ownership, operating as a self-starter who follows through and sees tasks to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • CA or CPA qualified, with a minimum of 8 years' experience in public practice or demonstrated capability in a similar client-facing manager role within business services.
  • Strong technical expertise in accounting and taxation, including preparation and review of financial statements, income tax returns, and working knowledge of indirect taxes (GST, FBT).
  • Proven experience in reviewing work and providing effective feedback.
  • Thorough understanding of tax compliance obligations for individuals, companies and trusts, with the ability to manage a wide-ranging portfolio.
  • Well-developed skills in delegation and workflow management.
  • Proficient in Xero and MYOB, with strong working knowledge of associated tax and workpaper tools.
