Job Description:

As a Research Assistant, you will be part of an interdisciplinary research team focused on climate change and mental health. The role involves supporting community engagement, establishing and implementing the research project, assisting with recruitment and data collection, contributing to data analysis and reporting, and conference presentations.

The research project encompasses assessing longer-term mental health outcomes in natural hazard-prone rural communities through community-based mental wellbeing and disaster preparedness programs.

You will work closely with the team to develop and implement the research design, collect and analyze data, and contribute to the dissemination of findings through publications and presentations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

We are seeking individuals with demonstrated skills and experience in research projects, including recruitment, data collection, data management, and quantitative or qualitative data analysis or spatial analysis.

In addition to your technical skills, we require strong organisational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and an Honours degree or equivalent research experience in a psychology or health-related discipline.

A working knowledge of environmental and community psychology, mental health, rural health, evaluation, prevention, and early intervention is also essential for this role.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant field; PhD preferred
