Job Opportunity

This is a chance to join our team as a Climate Change Program Manager. The successful candidate will lead the design, coordination, and delivery of our strategic climate change programs.

  • Design, coordinate and deliver SA Water's strategic climate change programs driving transition to a net zero, climate-resilient future.
  • Manage whole-of-government climate responses aligning programs with South Australia's emissions and resilience targets.
  • Lead implementation of the Climate Ready Government Circular.
  • Embed carbon abatement and climate resilience into planning, procurement, operations, and service delivery.

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised, collaborative leader with strong communication skills influencing strategic decisions across a large organisation. They will have a proven track record in managing complex projects, working with diverse stakeholders and leading teams towards common goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies for managing climate change risks and opportunities.
  • Provide expert advice on climate change policy and regulations to senior leadership and external partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies, industry partners and community groups.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support climate change initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g. environmental science, sustainability, public policy).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior management role, preferably in a government or non-profit organisation.
  • Proven track record in project management, stakeholder engagement and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
