About the Team Leader Position

NASCA is a national not-for-profit organisation that has been transforming the lives of thousands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians since 1995. We engage with First Nations young people to improve school attendance and performance, develop specific career pathways and work-ready skills, build life skills, and strengthen cultural pride and identity.

Job Overview

The Team Leader will oversee and support Program Leads in delivering NASCA Academies for their school site. This includes programme and project planning, staff management and coordination, and undertaking Programme Lead tasks.

The Team Leader will work with students enrolled in the NASCA Academies to enhance school attendance and ultimately school performance, develop career pathways and work-ready skills, and strengthen cultural pride and identity through life skills, personal development and long-term resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages, mentors, and coaches Programme Leads in their role.
  • Organises and coordinates across programme resources, events, and activities.
  • Develops and maintains meaningful relationships with stakeholders, staff, and Management.
  • Works with Programme Leads to achieve reporting requirements as required for the NASCA school site.
  • Represents NASCA at meetings with community groups and other stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualifications or experience in teaching, social sciences, youth and community services, Indigenous studies, coaching, or health.
  • Driver's Licence.
  • Working with Children and AFP clearances.
  • Understanding of issues facing young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Experience in people management and team leading.
