General Insurance Defender

Our general insurance practice serves a significant number of major insurers and corporates, managing litigated claims on their behalf. We are recognized for our expertise in advising clients across various industries, including construction, financial services, and the legal sector.
The primary focus of this role will be defending claims against professionals and medical practitioners, with a strong emphasis on strategic client interaction and team collaboration.
This position requires the ability to manage complex files independently, with appropriate supervision from experienced partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client strategy and liaison;
- Collaboration with a team of lawyers;
- Document review and evidence preparation;
- Drafting correspondence to the Court and third parties;
- Witness conferencing and statement preparation;
- Brief preparation for counsel;
- Court document drafting and attendance;
- Client advisories and expert instruction letters.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of five years' PQE experience in general insurance law;
- Experience in professional indemnity matters;
- Expertise in file management and court proceedings;
- Strong technical, analytical, and drafting skills;
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities;
- A keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively.
