Meriton is a leading Australian property group, with a diverse portfolio spanning residential sales, retail and commercial properties, building and property management, hospitality, construction, parking, energy and lending services.

This role requires an experienced Strategic Compliance Specialist to lead the development, implementation and oversight of our group-wide risk and compliance frameworks. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Counsel and ensure the business operates within legal and regulatory requirements while aligning with internal policies and risk capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain an enterprise-wide risk management framework.
  • Identify, assess and monitor risks specific to each division, recommending mitigation strategies and business continuity plans.
  • Oversee compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance audits.
  • Create and maintain group-wide risk and compliance policies and procedures to ensure consistent governance across divisions.
  • Prepare and present risk and compliance reports to senior and executive management.
  • Act as the primary contact for external regulators and stakeholders.
  • Promote a risk-aware, compliant culture throughout the organisation.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in risk and compliance management, ideally within property, construction or a similarly complex industry.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and governance best practice.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the business.
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills across diverse teams.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, risk, compliance, or a related discipline.

This is a full-time, office-based role (5 days per week) in our Sydney CBD Head Office. Candidates must have full-time, permanent working rights in Australia.
