About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Policy Officer to join our team at the Department of Home Affairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage policy across various areas, including immigration, citizenship and people mobility.
  • Lead project delivery and performance activities, ensuring effective outcomes and high-quality results.
  • Deliver operational outcomes and other enabling and supporting functions, working closely with stakeholders and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Be an ongoing EL1 employee in the APS with a broad skillset, including leadership, communication and analytical skills.
  • Possess well-developed leadership skills, particularly in a high tempo environment, with a strong focus on integrity and high ethical standards.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make lawful decisions confidently and accurately.
