About the Role

The Department of Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Allied Health Lead Policy and Projects to join our team. As a key member of our leadership group, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of allied health education, training, and workforce development strategies and initiatives across the Department of Health and other agencies in partnership with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Formulate strategic allied health workforce advice based on research, critical thinking, and analysis, including assessment of risks, options, and recommendations.
Develop high-level reports, briefings, submissions, and discussion papers to inform decisions.
Establish and promote a positive culture of being a learning organisation and build capacity and capability in the allied health workforce through education, training, and workforce development.

About the Team

You will work alongside and guide a small multidisciplinary team of experienced policy and project consultants and a project support officer. As a member of the leadership group, you will work closely with the Deputy and Chief Allied Health Advisors. This is a state-wide role, and the team is based in Hobart. Working arrangements outside Hobart will be considered.

What We Offer

A permanent full-time position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
A salary of $120,114 - $130,181 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation contribution.

Essential Criteria

Satisfactory completion of an appropriate allied health professional course of study at a recognised tertiary institution and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, eligible for membership with the relevant professional association.
