Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Cost Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing project cost estimation services for all stages of Delivery Management projects, ensuring that WHS, Community and environmental issues are integrated into the development of cost plans.

Key responsibilities include preparing project estimates in accordance with industry best practice, accurately determining the total cost of materials, labour, and equipment required for large and complex construction projects, and liaising with key stakeholders to ensure the required information is obtained.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an estimator in the construction field with demonstrable experience in the water industry or other highly regulated industry desirable
  • Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards
  • Demonstrable experience of construction site working and construction logistics
  • Experience of working in highly regulated environments under strict HS&E codes
  • Experience in research, proposal writing, and oral presentation to senior management, external stakeholders, regulatory bodies and agencies
  • Demonstrable interpersonal skills
  • Advanced computer skills and ability to use estimating and measurement software accurately and quickly
  • Proven business acumen and experience in driving innovation and best practice in cost estimation
