Job Title: Environmental Policy Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Policy Specialist to join our team. This role involves leading and influencing Australia's engagement on environment-related international agreements and treaties.

The position contributes to the protection and sustainable management of Australia's wildlife, ocean, marine and migratory species, and the Great Barrier Reef.

About the Role

The Environmental Policy Branch is responsible for the conservation, protection and sustainable management of the environment. It represents Australia's international wildlife trade interests, facilitating the listing and conservation planning of marine threatened species and ecological communities under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).

This role requires working with internal and external stakeholders, reviewing and synthesising evidence, and supporting the management and delivery of complex projects.

The successful candidate will be required to effectively cope with change, handle risk and uncertainty, and inform regulatory decisions based on evidence and data.
