We are seeking a dynamic and innovative engineer to join our team as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. The successful candidate will be involved in leading research projects focused on advanced composites manufacturing and materials testing, utilising workshop and laboratory skills to assemble, commission, and maintain complex apparatus for data acquisition.

Key responsibilities include designing and executing experiments, analysing data, and modelling findings to advance our research initiatives. You will also collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and engage with industry partners to attract funding and expand our research capabilities. Additionally, you will contribute to capacity development by mentoring others and enhancing academic research skills within the team.

To be successful in this role, you should have a doctoral or master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a closely related discipline. Proven professional experience or research expertise in relevant areas, especially in advanced composites, is highly desirable. Strong workshop and laboratory skills, with experience in designing and maintaining complex engineering systems, are essential. Excellent engineering design, data analysis, and modelling capabilities are also required.

Other key requirements include a collaborative spirit, a track record of engaging in successful research partnerships, and exceptional communication skills with the ability to build constructive relationships across diverse teams.

Job Requirements:

This is a fixed-term appointment until December 2026, with the possibility of extension subject to performance and availability of funding. Remuneration will be at a total remuneration range of $128,506 to $151,889 pa, including salary, employer super contributions, and annual leave loading.
