Chief Wellbeing Officer Job Description

The Chief Wellbeing Officer will be a key driver of transformative change across the institution. This executive role is pivotal in delivering an integrated approach to wellbeing, where services such as counselling, accessibility, safer communities, and chaplaincy are aligned under a shared mission of empowerment and equity.

The successful candidate will have expert knowledge of wellbeing issues relating to university students, including evidence-based and trauma-informed clinical practice, equity and inclusion, psychosocial safety, psychosocial practice models, and systemic work practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies for health promotion, prevention, and wellbeing related to university issues and drivers affecting student performance, engagement, and retention.
  • Provide expert guidance on wellbeing issues, including evidence-based and trauma-informed clinical practice, equity and inclusion, psychosocial safety, and systemic work practices.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of relevant frameworks and strategies for wellbeing.
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent in a relevant area (psychology, or an area relevant to mental health).
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with an appropriate professional association.
  • Extensive relevant experience.
