Opportunity for a Mental Health Clinician

An exciting opportunity exists for a clinician with a strong interest in and commitment to mental health to join a dedicated acute community mental health team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mental health triage and assessments for consumers within the community experiencing acute mental health problems
  • Assess and provide short-term treatment for mental health issues in the community, often as an alternative to hospital
  • Collaborate on care-planning for consumers transferring between hospital and community, providing follow-up support and onward referrals where appropriate
  • Deliver brief therapeutic interventions based on established models
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team across a 7-day rotating roster with morning and afternoon shifts

Requirements:

  • Current registration with AHPRA for relevant discipline - Psychology, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, Eligibility for membership with AASW for Social Workers
  • Demonstrated experience in comprehensive mental health assessment and crisis intervention
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and manage suicide risk
  • Experience working in community mental health with knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act
  • Extensive case management/care coordination skills
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team setting
  • Current NSW Driver's license
  • Proficient in data systems and computer skills or Microsoft Office Word software
