Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Engine Technician to join our team at Cummins Inc. in a service workshop role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing repairs and rebuilds on engine products under supervision, ensuring adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Apply documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
  2. Disassemble, inspect, and clean engines and/or engine components, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  3. Assist with completion of required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  4. Complete training in line with skill and business requirements, staying up-to-date with the latest Cummins and industry standards.
  5. Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation, adhering to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.
  6. Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues/incidents to their supervisor.

  • Product Repair and Maintenance, repairing and maintaining mechanical/electrical products following guidelines.
  • Service Documentation, creating and verifying customer, equipment, and technical information.
  • Technical Escalation, obtaining product technical issue information and utilizing available resources.
  • Values differences, recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
Experience
  • Minimal level of workshop experience required
  • Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Requirements
  • Be willing and actively participate in training & mentoring apprentices
  • Be willing to participate in and as part of a high performing team
  • Be fluid in the role in relation to meeting operational needs when required
  • Have or be willing to obtain Forklift (LF) High Risk Work Licence
  • Have or be willing to obtain Dogger (DG) High Risk Work Licence

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
