Substance Use Care Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Registered Nurse in the Intake Team at Nepean Hospital's Drug and Alcohol Service.
The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating clinical care for individuals seeking support for substance use, managing a high volume of client activity, and responding to enquiries from families, clients, and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate clinical care for individuals seeking support for substance use
- Manage a high volume of client activity
- Respond to enquiries from families, clients, and external agencies
- Assess risk and facilitate timely access to treatment pathways
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Comprehensive understanding of substance use disorders, treatment and harm minimisation principles
- Demonstrated experience working with people presenting with an acute drug and alcohol problem
- High level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise clinical judgement
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and work autonomously
