The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with a variety of duties, including covering for absent colleagues or providing extra help during peak periods.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Wash all kitchen utensils and tins in hot, soapy water and rinse well.
  • Help lay up the dining room for lunch service as required.
  • Prepare the dishwasher room for operation.
  • Ensure all cutlery and crockery are clean before returning to the servery.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Adhere to COSHH regulations when using chemicals, wearing protective wear.
  • Report any damaged or broken equipment to the Catering Manager.
  • Work safely without endangering other employees.
  • Carry out daily cleaning schedule and leave work areas clean and tidy.
  • Assist with Sports Teas and catering support for school events.

Working Conditions

  • This is a casual position with no set hours of work.
  • Hours will vary to cover absences and peak workload periods.
  • Cleaning work may be required on certain days.
  • Hourly rate of pay: £11.44 (National Living Wage) plus statutory holiday pay.
  • Rate will increase to £12.21 per hour in April 2025.
