Engineering Assistant

At Biffa Waste Services Ltd, we are seeking an Engineering Assistant to join our team. As an Engineering Assistant, you will support our engineers with routine maintenance tasks, ensuring the efficient operation of our equipment and minimizing downtime.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Assisting engineers with maintenance tasks, including disassembling machine parts, cleaning components, and conducting inspections.
- Supporting repairs, troubleshooting basic faults, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Working within a maintenance team to assist with preventative and breakdown maintenance on equipment.
- Identifying potential faults and improvement opportunities on plant and equipment.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A knowledge of mechanical maintenance, although not essential.
- The ability to work as part of a team while using their own initiative to complete tasks efficiently.
- A hands-on approach.
- An interest in understanding how machinery works.
