Gain hands-on experience in open pit mining with our team, contributing to real projects and business improvement in a 12-week residential program. You will work in the Open Pit team alongside experienced professionals, gaining experience in mine planning, design, dump staging strategies, drill and blast engineering, and business improvement. You will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with mining software such as Deswik and ShotPlus.Your Role

You will be undertaking a specific Business Improvement Project as delegated by our technical leaders. This project will give you the opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge in a real-world setting and make a meaningful impact on our operations.

  • You will work in the Open Pit team, supporting experienced professionals in their daily tasks and learning from them.
  • You will contribute to the development and implementation of effective dump design and staging strategies.
  • You will support drill and blast engineering tasks to optimize operational efficiency and safety.
  • You will comply with our site-specific Safety and Health management systems.
About You

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A current enrollment in a degree such as Mining Engineering, Science (Mining), Engineering Science (Mining Engineering), or Civil Engineering.
  • Experience with relevant software and systems through studies or placements (Deswik, ShotPlus preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills across verbal, written, numerical, and graphical formats.
  • Ability to uphold high work standards and build strong relationships with peers and leaders.
  • Capacity to work independently to meet personal and team goals.
  • A valid manual driver's license.
  • The willingness to live and work remotely.
Compensation & Benefits

  • We offer a 12-week residential program with a roster of 5 days on/2 days off and 4 days on/3 days off.
  • We fast-track entry into our graduate program for successful candidates.
