**About the Role:**

Sky News Australia seeks a highly skilled Content Editor to join its digital newsroom. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with exceptional editing skills and experience in online content creation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for tailoring journalism for search best practice, collaborating with journalists and producers to drive reach and engagement of original journalism on SkyNews.com.au.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Edit and curate the SkyNews.com.au homepage with the best performing content
  • Possess mature and seasoned news judgement to help navigate story pitches from staff and prioritise the most important issues
  • Help manage a 7-day roster to ensure biggest news moments are appropriately staffed
  • Use WordPress CMS to build stories, assign them to appropriate sections, and liaise with social media teams
  • Understand the immediacy of the digital and television news environments and leverage broadcast content for digital assets
  • Identify newsworthy opinion and interview content from television channels and deliver it quickly and accurately into the news cycle
  • Understand what content works for which platforms and target content specifically for Digital platforms
  • Work in a fast-paced team environment, liaising with Digital Video teams and on-air teams to turn around exclusive content quickly

**Requirements:**

We are seeking an experienced editor with impeccable sub-editing skills and a proven track record of breaking news stories. The ideal candidate will have excellent news sense, the ability to write sharp content quickly, and strong organisational skills.

A positive attitude, enthusiasm for sharing ideas, and the ability to work unsupervised under pressure are essential. Experience in a busy newsroom is ideal, and management experience is preferred.
