Leadership Opportunity: Major Loss & Specialty Division

As the leader of our major loss and specialty division in Australia, you will utilize your construction expertise and leadership experience to drive a growing portfolio of large, commercial & residential work.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with commercial acumen and technical construction knowledge to run its major loss and specialty (MLS) division in Australia.

You will report to the director of commercial & specialty building and manage the end-to-end operation of the MLS team ensuring its ongoing profitability. You will work closely with estimators, supervisors, and project coordinators to ensure the successful delivery of all MLS construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the department's financial performance; achieve profit targets;
  • Lead staff/team management, estimating, project management, and delivery of MLS construction projects;
  • Plan, direct, and execute make safes and construction projects safely and within budget;
  • Work on site-based and office-based projects;

Required Skills and Capabilities:

  • Hold a building license or supervisor license;
  • Have extensive experience in domestic and commercial project management across multiple sites;
  • Understand relevant building codes, Australian standards, and state legislation;
  • Experience working with clients, building consultants, trades, and suppliers, managing staff, and business development;
  • Track record of establishing and maintaining long-term relationships/accounts;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience within the insurance repair industry is desirable;
