As an emergency response agency, ensuring public safety and property protection across a region is crucial. Our team provides prevention, preparation, response, and recovery services in various emergency situations.
Job PurposeThis role is unique in delivering high-quality fire, rescue, emergency, and disaster management services through a single agency, focusing on community safety and well-being.
Key Requirements- Mandatory:
- Eligible to hold a current Blue Card.
- Employer's written consent to participate in emergencies.
- Reside or work within a reasonable distance from the auxiliary fire station.
- Australian Permanent Resident Status.
- Manual C Class driver's license.
The team expects commitment to:
- Attending 50% of emergency calls as a day worker with routine hours; or 30% of calls as a shift worker with non-routine hours.
- 75% attendance at regular drill and training sessions.
- Ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs.
- Complying with policies and procedures, including code of conduct and personal presentation standards.
- Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as part of the team.
- Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through education activities.
- Develop competencies by participating in drills and training.
- Maintain required attendance standards for emergencies and training.
- Operate specialist equipment safely and effectively.
- Contribute to station upkeep and hygiene.
- Contribute to incident reporting and general administration.
- Promote a positive team approach and comply with legal requirements.
- Communicate effectively with the team and community.
- Contribute to a safe work environment.
