Melville Senior High School is a vibrant educational institution dedicated to providing students with an exceptional learning experience.

We seek a dynamic leader to spearhead the Learning Area – Design and Technology, driving excellence in teaching and learning across Digital Technologies, Design and Technology, Aviation, and Home Economics.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience building and leading high-performing teams, and developing curricula that foster student growth.
  • A strong understanding of evidence-based best practices in teaching and learning, paired with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, is required.
  • This role demands a collaborative leader who can effectively engage staff, students, and the wider community to achieve positive outcomes.

The successful applicant should possess in-depth knowledge of the Western Australian Technologies Curriculum and be capable of teaching across Years 7 to 12.

In addition, they should have teaching expertise in at least one Technologies area (Digital Technologies, Design and Technology, or Home Economics) and comprehensive knowledge of the full range of Technologies courses, including General, Vocational education and training (VET), and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).

Melville SHS is a Lead School in the Department's Quality Teaching Strategy, therefore knowledge of and experience leading Teaching for Impact is highly desirable.

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1.
