Intellectual Property Specialist Role Overview

Rheinmetall Defence Australia is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Specialist to join their team in Brisbane.

This role will support the management of IP and its obligations to the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) and other parties involved in the global supply chain.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of intellectual property database administration and management, as well as experience in drafting, negotiating and amending intellectual property license agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of IP and its obligations;
  • Draft, negotiate and amend intellectual property license agreements;
  • Assist in the development of IP strategies that deliver competitive advantage to proposals and tenders;
  • Provide expertise on intellectual property database administration and management;
  • Collaborate with the Legal and Commercial Team to ensure compliance with CoA requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Intellectual Property, Law or equivalent discipline;
  • A minimum of 2-4 years' experience within an IP or similar role;
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating and amending intellectual property license agreements;
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property database administration and management;
  • Good understanding of Australian contract law, specifically as it relates to IP;
  • Ability to assist in the development of IP strategies that deliver competitive advantage to proposals and tenders;
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
