Job Opportunity: Supply Chain Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in procurement and warehouse operations, with experience in the marine or mining industry.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to take on a leadership role in supply chain management. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the supply chain function to obtain best value for the business through customer focus, good supplier relationships, and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilising Pronto ERP and Cognos reporting programs for reporting, stock control, and purchases.
  • Maintaining the physical warehouse and the Pronto database for recurrent purchases and critical spares.
  • Managing the purchase requisition system for supplying inventory to tugboats.
  • Coordinating the delivery of goods between suppliers, storage facilities, and Tug Haven.
  • Receiving goods into the store as required.
  • Collaborating with technical personnel to forecast inventory reorder levels and with accounting personnel to develop budgets.
  • Working with technical staff and marine contractors to research and understand technical and compliance requirements for purchases.
  • Reviewing purchase orders to ensure policy compliance.
  • Negotiating and tendering with local, national, and international suppliers for price agreements, contracts, and capital items.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant qualifications in logistics, warehousing, or procurement.
  • 3-5 years' experience in procurement and warehouse operations within the marine or mining industry.
  • Experience in forklift operations and stores, including Forklift VOC certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with database maintenance and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a professional presentation.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
