Job Description

This role involves coordinating the delivery of in-school and after-school programs in Western Sydney Indigenous Academies, with a focus on educational goals, school attendance, and transitioning students into further education and employment opportunities. Key responsibilities include developing and executing program plans, maintaining relationships with stakeholders, increasing education and employment outcomes for Academy students, mentoring and motivating students, and supporting other areas of the business as needed.

Key Accountabilities
  • Deliver culturally appropriate mentoring and support program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander High School students in Western Sydney.
  • Deliver the Academies term plans in 8 partner schools in Blacktown and Campbelltown with the support of two casual program assistants.
  • Support the development and implementation of the Western Sydney Indigenous Academies term plans.
  • Coordinate the after-school academies programs focused on community engagement, health and wellbeing.
  • Provide administrative support, including research on potential partner organizations, researching information for term plans, sourcing quotes and booking after-school and holiday activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A high level of understanding of the issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in Western Sydney.
  • Ability to connect with students and deliver education sessions in a fun and engaging way.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with students as a mentor and provide extra support to students as needed.
  • Class C Driver's license with reliable vehicle.
  • Working with Children Check and National Police Certificate.
Estimated Salary Range

$65,000 - $80,000 per annum.
