Job Overview

We are seeking a Data Management Specialist to join our Defence division at Service Stream.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a plan to ensure the maintenance and integrity of defence data in accordance with defence standards.
  • Lead personnel in reviewing, validating, and uploading asset data in accordance with defence standards.
  • Foster continual improvement of processes within internal systems (GEMS & ServiceNow) to improve user access and information.
  • Manage and monitor data security risks within Service Stream and Defence, analysing data integrity, and developing continuity plans in compliance with ISO 27001.
  • Manage requests for asset data changes from internal and external sources on behalf of Defence, including creation and updates.
  • Train staff and stakeholders in the use of Defence systems to access and update relevant estate information, including ERIM, GDL, GEMS, and NSIMS.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in data management and processing, ideally within the Defence sector.
  • Experience in managing data security risks and compliance with ISO 27001 standards.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of data maintenance plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in fostering continual improvement processes and a proven track record of leading teams in validating, uploading, and reviewing asset data.
  • Familiarity with Defence standards and data systems, including ERIM, GDL, GEMS, and NSIMS.
  • Tertiary qualification in Data Management, Information Technology, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Certifications in Defence data systems (e.g. GEMS) would be advantageous.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
