Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Strategy Analyst to join our Finance team and contribute to shaping the organisation's strategic direction.

  • This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker with a sharp analytical mind and a passion for driving commercial performance.
Main Responsibilities:
  1. Support the annual strategy refresh process, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and market dynamics.
  2. Conduct environmental scans, competitor benchmarking, and internal performance reviews to inform strategic priorities.
  3. Support senior leaders in shaping strategic direction and investment/divestment priorities.
  4. Translate strategic objectives into actionable business plans, including timelines, resource requirements, and measurable outcomes.
  5. Collaborate with business units to ensure alignment between strategy and operational execution.
  6. Monitor progress against strategic initiatives and escalate risks or barriers to execution.
  7. Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and performance scorecards to track progress against strategic and financial goals.
  8. Support monthly and quarterly reporting cycles with clear, data-driven commentary and recommendations.
  9. Lead or support the development of robust business cases for new initiatives, capital investments, and strategic projects.
  10. Ensure business cases include financial modelling, risk assessments, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  11. Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis.
  12. Provide commercial insights and recommendations based on financial outcomes and market trends.
  13. Support pricing strategies, cost-benefit analysis, and margin improvement initiatives.
  14. Oversight and continuous improvement of the organisation's investment evaluation framework, ensuring consistency, transparency, and alignment with strategic goals.
  15. Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on investment governance, evaluation criteria, and post-implementation reviews.
  16. Ensure all investment proposals meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
