About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Mining & Energy Major Projects team in Australia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the successful delivery and completion of a heavy haul rail infrastructure project for a tier 1 mining client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan and take action to resolve problems and minimize risks and delays.
  • Monitor and control cost performance against the plan, and develop and implement project controls, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure work undertaken complies with the scope and meets quality and operational requirements.
  • Prepare schedules for design work and obtain approvals for flow sheets and drawings.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Interface with the client and cultivate positive relations to achieve effective communication and collaboration across teams.
About You

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer with a strong background in rail projects and a demonstrated understanding of the detailed design engineering process. You will bring the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree and 7+ years of experience in project engineering and management.
  • Demonstrated experience working on rail projects and a strong understanding of the rail project delivery process.
  • Previous rail shutdown experience will be an advantage.
  • Strong background in developing and implementing schedules, cost estimates, and coordination.
  • Proven project management skills and demonstrated ability to deliver work within the agreed budget, timeframe, and customer requirements.
