Job Summary

  • We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Assessment and Planning Officer to work at the Metropolitan Remand & Reception Centre, Silverwater.
Your Role

You will be responsible for developing education and employment plans for offenders, working autonomously with diverse people in a custodial setting. You will be supported by a statewide Education team.

Key responsibilities include coordinating the delivery of education services and programs within the centre, conducting assessments and planning activities to inform offender education and employment plans, contributing to case management by providing regular reports on inmate learning progress and achievement.

Maintain related administrative duties including recording of offender participation, progress and achievement in accordance with established systems and processes.

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver appropriate education and vocational training programs
  • Conduct assessments and planning activities to inform offender education and employment plans

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential skills and qualifications include current driver's licence, administration qualifications desirable, demonstrated experience in office administration, negotiation and conflict management. Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook), excellent communication skills, written and verbal, ability to interact and motivate inmates.
