Airport Operations Specialist Role

This is a vital position in delivering safe, seamless and world-class travel experiences at Melbourne Airport.

The successful candidate will ensure operational excellence across various touchpoints within the terminals by coordinating communications, resource management and customer experience efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Resource Management: Manage airport assets, adjust operational plans, document asset impacts and ensure key service providers' objectives align with targeted outcomes.
  • Communications: Act as a central communication point for stakeholders, maintain communication systems, make passenger announcements, handle after-hours calls and convey information clearly.
  • Customer Experience and Facilitation: Ensure compliance with airport standards, engage with airlines and ground handlers, monitor service levels and manage service failures.
  • Reporting & Situational Awareness: Record operational data, compile and distribute daily operational reports and maintain situational awareness to facilitate outbound messaging on safety and operational matters.
  • Consequence Assessment and Escalation: Respond to emergencies, handle incidents, escalate significant issues and follow the Consequence Assessment Guide.

To be successful in this role, you will need experience in airport operations or a similar environment, relevant qualifications, strong communication skills and the ability to manage high-pressure situations.
