Key responsibilities of the Board include:
- Ensuring our mission remains clear and relevant;
- Setting the strategic direction of the organisation;
- Monitoring our programmes and activities to ensure they align with our mission;
- Ensuring executive performance;
- Adequate financial and other reporting;
- Risk management;
- Compliance with governance standards;
- Having an Australian Director Identification Number.
Directors must uphold their statutory and fiduciary duties, avoiding conflicts of interest and owing a duty of care, diligence, and skill.
Board meeting schedule includes at least six times per year, with approximately four face-to-face meetings annually.
Selection criteria include finance experience, marketing experience, and campaigning/ecological/science experience.
