Physiotherapist Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled physiotherapist to make a meaningful contribution in a collaborative environment.

We are seeking an experienced physiotherapist to join our team at the Wagga Wagga Health Centre. As a physiotherapist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to Defence Force staff, promoting their health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Evidence-Based Care:
  • Assess, treat, and rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries in ADF members.
  • Work closely with doctors, nurses, PTIs, and allied health professionals in a collaborative team.
  • Focus on injury prevention, performance, return-to-duty, and long-term wellbeing – not just pain management.
  • Use your clinical judgement to manage a diverse caseload across outpatient, rehab, and gym-based settings.
  • Conduct group therapy, hydrotherapy, and equipment-assisted programs.
  • Keep detailed, compliant clinical records and participate in continuous quality improvement and audits.
  • Stay at the cutting edge through CPD, innovation, and a strong clinical governance framework.
Requirements:
  • AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist (Unrestricted).
  • Minimum 2 years of recent post-grad experience in musculoskeletal or rehabilitation physiotherapy.
  • Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009).
  • Ongoing CPD participation aligned with AHPRA standards.
  • APA Membership (highly regarded).
  • Australian Citizenship (required for Defence clearance).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.

About the Centre:

Located on Wagga Wagga Barracks in Forest Hill, South-East of Wagga Wagga. Services provided include primary medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy.

Staff may be required to work across Wagga & Kapooka. Standard hours of operation are generally 0700-1600 Monday to Friday.
