Obstetric and Gynaecological Consultant Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to provide high-quality patient-centered care and contribute to the growth of our multidisciplinary team at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.

This exciting opportunity is for a passionate physician with specialist registration in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to deliver exceptional healthcare services, support junior staff, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

  • Deliver specialist obstetric and gynaecological services to patients.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and midwives to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to teaching, training, and quality activities to drive excellence in healthcare.
  • Participate in service development and quality improvement projects to optimize patient outcomes.

As part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will work together to provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care with opportunities for teaching and supervision. The successful applicant must have:

  • Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
  • Recent clinical experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, including surgery.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills to manage teams and facilitate collaboration.
  • Commitment to teaching, research, and quality improvement to drive innovation and excellence.
  • Availability for on-call duties and site responses.

Roster Coverage & On-Call

The consultant will participate in departmental roster for weekday and weekend cover, with on-call shared among consultants (currently 1 in 4, negotiable).

The successful applicant must meet vaccination and screening requirements, and undergo a National Police Check.
