The Department

Our Surgical A ward is a 36-bed unit specializing in general surgery, colorectal, plastic surgery, metabolic, and bariatric surgery. We have extensive expertise in stoma care and wound management.

The ward offers preceptorship support for new employees, along with guidance from experienced staff. Our team values professional development opportunities and patient-centered care in a supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 3 years of surgical experience
  • Working with Children check
  • Specialty nursing experience in general adult surgery, including Bariatrics, Colorectal, and Plastics
  • Commitment to quality patient care
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
